Key West Honorary Mayor Gonzo Mays was born Sammie Kern on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Mays is credited with over 250 publishings over a twenty-five year writing span. The author also hosts and writes tourist television vignettes for Key West and the Florida Keys.
